Path Driver is the program CMCSS uses to screen and progress monitor students. The links below provide guidance on how to use the Path Driver system. Keep in mind that some discussion may need to occur at the building level to make sure protocols are followed before using the system. For example: Buildings may have a naming convention they want teachers to use when creating classes. Within the Path Driver system are 'Help' and 'Learn More' links. Use them to get directions for working in the system. They are intuitive in that they link directly to information relating to the page being used in the system.

Please refer to this site if you need assistance with teacher resources and/or professional development. It includes mini-webinars on such as adding students to classes, scheduling universal screening and progress monitoring tests, and viewing reports.

Screening

Last year screening was scheduled by the district. This year each school will schedule screening based on the building's needs making sure all students are screened during the district approved window. Check with your building RTI committee to find out who is responsible for scheduling screening.

Progress Monitoring

Students are progress monitored at instructional and grade level. Data teams determine when progress monitoring will occur and who is responsible for scheduling the assessments. Check with your RTI committee prior to scheduling progress monitoring.

Creating a Class

Students exist in the system based on Power School information that is updated nightly. Teachers may create as many classes as they wish in order to schedule and monitor students. Deleting a student from a class does not delete them from the system. Class naming conventions may be developed at each school. Check with the RTI committee prior to creating, editing, or deleting classes to make sure naming conventions are followed.

Scheduling Tests

Tests can be scheduled for both screening and progress monitoring as well as post tests in Academy of Reading and Math to measure gains. Testing schedules should be created so that they begin and end during one academic school year. End dates should never exceed the school calendar.

Reports

Reports can be viewed in all programs and downloaded or printed. Printer friendly versions can be saved or printed. The export feature is currently only available in the new interface under the bulk actions menu.

Scoring ORF

Oral Reading Fluency recordings must be scored manually. This video provides step by step directions for scoring ORF recordings in the Path Driver system. Manual scoring is only necessary for ORF.
